January Chapter Meeting

Hello and Happy New Year! With the shade structure construction and the holiday season it has been a while since our last update email. A few weeks before Christmas we held our last construction work day at the dog park and completed the installation of the rammed earth benches. We still have more to do however due to a a planned shoulder surgery and the Holidays I have not been able to organize any further work on the project since then. I plan on scheduling our next work day Mid-February and expect a few more days left to finish completely. What we have left to do is the following:

We are in the process of constructing the shade structure at the MBF Rail Trail dog park. Volunteers with any skill level are welcome! We will be performing rammed earth construction as well as painting the rebar trellis structure and planting vines. Work days are usually Saturday and/or Sundays starting at 8:30 am. June Chapter Meeting

We'll be having our monthly meeting on Tuesday 6/26 @ The New Way @ 8 pm. We'll be working out logistics for the construction of the Dog Park Shade Structure. Also, a small group is meeting THIS Thursday (tomorrow) @ 8 pm @ My House (657 Maple St.) to finalize the design of the Shade Structure. Feel free to show up if you can. See you there!

Join me at the fabulous NuWay on Tuesday 5/29 @ 8 pm for our next monthly chapter meeting. Since last month we have worked as a small group to put together a design for a shade structure for the new Rail Tail dogpark. I'll have the rendering to view and we can draft up a task list and discuss construction details (design and logistics). Come down for a beer and a burger and help us out with our first construction project!

Come share your thoughts on how to improve and beautify the MBF Rail Trail ------------------ As we are working on a master plan for the Rail Trail this would be a great meeting to attend if you have the time. April Chapter Meeting

Our monthly meeting this April will be a site visit to the new Rail Tail dog park which is the site for our current project where we will be designing and constructing a shade structure. This is a good chance to check out the new park if you haven't already seen it and to walk the site and discuss design ideas for the shade structure itself. We'll be meeting earlier than usual at 6:30 pm to take advantage of the light. If there is interest we can regroup at a local watering hole for drinks and discussion. See you then! Aaron

Hey Aaron and everyone else,

I am working for a cabin company and am out of town usually Monday - Thursday but it varies. I am still very interested in working on this project if you would send me a copy of meeting minutes, drawings and task and tool list or whatever documents there are so I may see what support I may offer or if you tell me what you need I will do my best to accomodate. I am almost always off on the weekends so I am willing to assist with construction when the time comes.
